Spireites boss Paul Cook has wished Carl Lamb well after his short stay at the club came to an end.
"After taking a look at Carl, we felt it was only fair to let him go in search of first-team football after being unable to provide him with game time," said Cook. "We would like to wish him all the best for the future."
Lamb agreed to join Chesterfield on a on-contract basis last month after impressing in training and scoring four goals in a practice match. He featured as an unused substitutes on a handful of occasions.
The 29-year-old striker, who has played for various non-league teams, returned to this country following a spell in Australia.
