Young Spireites pair Charlie Dawes and Michael Onovwigun have moved out on loan to local non-league clubs.Striker Dawes has joined Matlock Town while Onovwigun, who plays in midfield, links up with Sheffield FC.
Dawes, 19, joined Chesterfield in the summer after being released by Sheffield Wednesday. He made his debut in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie at Scunthorpe in September, his only first-team appearance to date.
Onovwigun has made a couple of appearances as a substitute, with his debut coming in the second league of the season, at home to Rochdale. The 18-year-old, who was also signed in the summer, impressed on trial after being released by Brentford.
Manager Paul Cook believes both players will benefit from going out on loan. He said: "They both train with the rest of the squad and now they need to look forward to playing in games at the end of the week. We will monitor their progress while they're out on loan and hopefully they'll return to the club as better players."
Both loans are for an initial 28 days.
