The date for the FA Youth Cup match between Chesterfield and Aston Villa has been confirmed for the evening of Monday, December 15.The cup clash will kick-off at the Proact Stadium at 7pm, with all Chesterfield fans encouraged to come along to cheer on the Spireites youth team.
Supporters can buy tickets on the night at the stadium, as there are no advance sales, and cost £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.
Speaking about the forthcoming match, youth team manager Mark Smith was open with his excitement.
He said: "It's going to be brilliant. It's going to be under lights, hopefully we'll have a good few fans in and we're going to close down training in the academy for the day and get all the teams in to watch the match - all together that should make a bit of an atmosphere.
"The main thing is that the kids have earned the right to play against a team like Aston Villa and that's what you want to do.
"We wanted to get to the third round when the big boys come in. I think we'll do all right and I'm looking forward to it.
"We've played a few category one teams in friendlies during the season and we've tended to do well against players who are more technical but play at a lower tempo, that seems to suit some of our players."
The Spireites reached this stage of the competition after convincing wins against Stocksbridge Park Steels and AFC Fylde, while Aston Villa make their FA Youth Cup bow for the season in the fixture at the Proact.
