The Chesterfield FC development centre continues to produce players for the club's academy, with eight youngsters recently making the step up.Liam Sutcliffe, head of academy recruitment, is delighted to see so many talented youngsters given a chance to progress after impressing during their time in the development centre. "They will be a fine addition to the academy, having been identified as having the necessary potential.
"Not only will they help out the academy, but they will also encourage others from the development centre to follow in their footsteps."
Mark Evans, father of under-11s goalkeeper Ryan Evans, from Old Whittington, said: "He has been at the development centre for two years and it has brought Ryan's technique on superbly. He's ready to take the next step."
Another new recruit, Finlay Smith (11), who lives in Greenhill, Sheffield, also praised the work of Liam and his coaching staff. He said: "It's great because they encourage you and want you to do the best that you can. Hopefully I can live up to this and play up to my ability."
