Expectant Chesterfield fans got in the mood for Sunday’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final with two days of exciting build-up to the showpiece occasion.
The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Tour captured the imagination of Spireites supporters who will be heading down to Wembley for Sunday’s eighth Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final against Peterborough United.
The trophy was taken around Chesterfield, making appearances at the Johnstone’s Decorating Centre on Britannia Road opposite the bowling alley and at the Market Hall, where Chesterfield stars Ian Evatt and Armand Gnanduillet were in attendance.
A hectic two days included a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy fans forum at the Proact Stadium featuring Chesterfield manager Paul Cook, chief executive Chris Turner and club legend Tony Lormor.
A host of shops, businesses and community groups from across Chesterfield took part in a special Paint the Town Blue Day to build the pre-Wembley excitement,
