Staveley beat Chesterfield 4-3 as Ryan Damms scored a hat trick before a late Spireites comeback fell just short.Chesterfield strated the match with a mix of youth team, triallists and first team players. Ritchie Humphreys captained the side with Dan Gardner also starting.
Within four minutes of the start Stavely took the lead when Nathan Forbes found space and finished neatly from just inside the box.
Just after the half hour the home had a second when Damms scored his first after the evening after seizing on an underhit Raglan backpass.
Five minutes later Raglan attoned for his mistake by meeting Dan Gardner's swirling freekick at the back post and powerfully heading past 'keeper Steve Hernandez.
However, the comeback was short-lived as 60 seconds later Damms had another goal for the home side, after Forbes had held off a Spireites defender.
Chesterfield looked bright in the early stages of the second period, but despite a succession of corners, they were unable to find a goal.
Halfway through the second half and Staveley had a fourth, that man Damms at it again and claiming his hat trick. The frontman stuck 20 yards and saw his effort deflect off Lawrence Maguire and past the 'keeper.
With a host of young players coming off the bench the Spireites rallied and scored a second goal when Lewis Sugden found the top corner from outside the box.
With injury time on the horizon the visitors had a third, this time from Mason Coy who curled home to give further hopes of an unlikely revival. However, the scoring was finished and Staveley were victors.
