Chesterfield travel to Matlock Town tonight for in the second of their pre-season friendlies.
The match will see the Spireites will compete with their Derbyshire neighbours at the Autoworld Arena, with kick-off set for 7.30pm. The winners will be awarded the Autoworld Trophy.
Matlock are currently managed by former Blackburn Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers star Mark Atkins and the Gladiators finished 12th in the Northern Premier League Premier Division last term.
After a 1-1 draw in their opening pre-season game at Buxton on Saturday, the Spireites will look at a number of trialists who will be keen to impress the management team.
Among the trialists are free agent Nicky Featherstone - a midfielder released by Walsall at the end of last season - and teenage striker Robbie Cotton, on trial from Blackburn.
Romuald Boco will also feature. The former Plymouth Argyle and Accrington Stanley man has been training with the Spireites while he searches for a new club.
Manager Paul Cook is looking forward to the game as a way of helping the squad build up match fitness.
He said: "We'll be finishing off a training day, getting more minutes on the pitch for the players. The result of the game at Shrewsbury this weekend obviously takes on more significance."
