Chesterfield welcome Premier League giants Aston Villa to the Proact Stadium for their latest pre-season friendly.
The Spireites come into the game off the back of an impressive 2-2 draw with Championship side Leeds United on Saturday. Midfielder Sam Morsy scored twice as the home side came within five minutes of beating their illustrious opponents.
Wednesday night's 7:45pm kick-off sees the home side set to play a full-strength team. Aston Villa are also expected to come to the Proact with a full-strength squad, after their recent return from a pre-season tour to the US.
Speaking ahead of the game, manager Paul Cook was full of anticipation at welcoming another big name to the Proact.
He said: "We are delighted to be facing Premiership opposition as we firm up our preparations for the start of the new season. There is no doubt that Aston Villa will provide us with a stiff test in our final game before the big kick-off."
After the two concerts at the Proact Stadium in June, the Spireites have spent several pre-season games play away fixtures while the new Proact Stadium turf has been bedded in. The home match with Leeds was the team's first game at home since the Sky Bet League 2 championship party against Fleetwood Town back in May.
After a fairly nomadic pre-season, the manager is pleased with how things have gone for his charges.
Cook said: "I'm really happy with the way our pre-season preparations have gone and I can't wait for the trip to Leyton Orient on the opening day of the season."
The Proact Stadium ticket office will be open throughout the day and up until kick off for fans wanting to buy tickets. Prices for the match are £15 for adults and £7 for concessions/juveniles.
