Students from Chesterfield school Highfield Hall Primary had the chance to train with their heroes to celebrate their season of success. The team of year six students won a host of local leagues and tournaments in the past season, as well as coming third out of fully 750 teams in the all-Derbyshire Cup.
Highfield Hall headteacher Gary Martin was delighted for his pupils to be able to come along and train with the players they aspire to emulate.
He said: "I'm very proud of the boys. They've come here to celebrate a really good season. They've won a lot of competitions this season and played fantastically as a team. It's a treat for them before they all leave us this year for secondary school."
The headteacher was full of praise for Chesterfield for inviting the school and celebrating their success.
He said: "It's a fantastic opportunity for the boys. Some of these players are their heroes and they go and watch them every weekend. They're the kind of players that they'd like to be and some of them probably could because they really are very talented boys.
"They were so excited when I told them yesterday that we were coming here. In fact, a couple of them didn't believe me. It's amazing that the club has put back into the community, so it's really good."
