Free IT Training in The Hub

Free IT training for small and medium businesses (SMBs) will be made available in The Hub at the Proact from September.

Training provider Escalla are offering 'Skills Support for the Workforce', which is a government-funded employer scheme providing SMBs with the opportunity to improve productivity in their organisation through IT skills.

Improve employee motivation, instil best practice and business growth can be achieved by providing workforce with the IT skills required to be more productive and better equipped to undertake their job successfully.

  • Learn Microsoft Office 2010, online collaboration tools, productivity tips and tricks
  • Put as many employees through the training as required (in line with eligibility criteria)
  • Fully blended learning. E-Learning mixed with face-to-face tutor training and support
  • Flexible programme of learning to minimise company disruption
  • Employees gain a globally recognised IT qualification
  • No prior knowledge of IT or skill in computing is required
Eligibility criteria:
  • Businesses with under 250 employees
  • Based within the Sheffield LEP area: Sheffield, Rotherham, Chesterfield, Doncaster, Barnsley, NE Derbyshire, Bolsover, Derbyshire Dales, Bassetlaw
  • Employee must not already hold an IT qualification and has not already taken an SSW course
  • Employee must be over 19 and working at least eight hours per week
