Chesterfield have handed winger Jamie Devitt a contract until the end of the season.
Devitt, 23, was signed on a short-term contract in the summer following a spell on trial after being released by Hull City. He has made eight appearances this season.
Spireites manager Paul Cook said: “Jamie is a great lad to have at the club and he possibly should have had more opportunities to play in the first team.
“He ticks all the boxes for us and hopefully he will have more minutes on the pitch between now and the end of the season, which will see him grow as a Chesterfield player.”
The decision to extend Devitt’s contract follows news that Jimmy Ryan has been secured on a deal until the end of next season.
