Chesterfield travel to Bootham Crescent to take on York City in their 28th fixture of the 2013/14 Sky Bet League 2 season.
The Minstermen are currently 15th in the League 2 table having taken 32 points from 28 games, losing 2-0 to Hartlepool United in their last outing at Victoria Park.
Their defeat to Pools ended a four-game unbeaten streak that included wins over Morecambe, Dagenham & Redbridge and Northampton Town.
Victory tonight could see York climb to tenth place in League 2 and reduce the gap between themselves and the playoffs to ten points.
The Spireites approach this fixture on the back of a 3-1 victory over Northampton Town at Sixfields Stadium on Saturday, coming back from a goal down to win through strikes from Dan Gardner, Gary Roberts and Armand Gnanduillet.
The victory over the Cobblers took Chesterfield to second place in the table, and with Scunthorpe sharing a draw with Fleetwood Town on Monday night, a win on Tuesday would see the North Derbyshire side return to the top of the pile.
These sides meet for the second time in the league this season after a 2-2 draw at the Proact Stadium in October. York City took a two-goal lead through Luke O'Neil and Ryan Jarvis before Armand Gnanduillet and Jay O'Shea cancelled out the away side's lead and earned Chesterfield a point.
The pitch at Bootham Crescent is playable and there are no scheduled pitch inspections so tonight's game is due to go ahead.
Ryan Jarvis picked up an injury in the Minstermen's defeat at Hartlepool and looks extremely doubtful for Tuesday's game against Chesterfield.
Sander Puri is close to making a full return to first team action but looks unlikely to face the Spireites.
Lewis Montrose earned his tenth yellow card of the season at Victoria Park and is therefore suspended for the midweek fixture.
As well as Jarvis, Ryan Bowman picked up a knock during Saturday's game but looks likely to feature against Chesterfield.
Drew Talbot was brought off at half-time during Chesterfield's draw with Rochdale and missed out on the victory at Northampton Town, the full-back is still recovering from his knock and will not feature against York City.
Nathan Smith has made a full recovery from the injury that kept him out of the team at Sixfields Stadium and is available for selection on Tuesday night.
Marc Richards has served his one-match bad following the red card he received against Rochdale and will travel to Bootham Crescent.
York City: 2/1 Draw: 23/10 Chesterfield: 13/10
Skybet have Chesterfield as favourites going into Tuesday's game but believe the home side have every chance of taking something from the game.
