A collection in aid of the Pilgrim Bandits charity at Chesterfield’s game against Bury at the weekend raised just under £2,000.
Ben Parkinson MBE, who lost both legs and suffered brain injuries while serving in Afghanistan, is a patron of the charity and he attended the Proact Stadium as a guest of match sponsor Franke Sissons.
“The invitation from Franke Sissons to be the match day charity was a terrific opportunity for us,” said Deborah Risbridger from the Pilgrim Bandits.
“To raise almost £2,000 was wonderful. Thank you to Chesterfield FC and all those who kindly donated on the day.”
Pilgrim Bandits was formed in 2007 with the aim of helping and inspiring wounded soldiers to live life to the full.
