A fundraising event at the Proact Stadium on Saturday night saw around £3,500 raised for the Chesterfield FC academy.

Goalkeeper coach Eric Nixon performed an Elvis Presley tribute - which was filmed by Sky Sports for a Soccer Saturday feature - with The Nutty Boys also providing musical entertainment.

Around 200 people attended the event with a raffle and an auction adding to the coffers.

Director Chris Breeze said: "Events like this raise funds to help the academy develop promising young players, which is vital for a club like Chesterfield.

"I would like to thank everyone who provided their support including Mick Beddingham, who works hard on behalf of the academy as a volunteer and Phil Tooley, who acted as the host.

"Thanks also go to Eric Nixon and The Nutty Boys for providing some great entertainment and to Serendipity Healthcare for sponsoring the event."
