21 February 2014

Chesterfield travel to Adams Park to take on Wycombe Wanderers in their 32nd fixture of the 2013/14 Sky Bet League 2 season.

Overview

The Chairboys are currently 22nd in the League 2 table having taken 31 points from 30 games, drawing 1-1 with Fleetwood Town in their last outing at Adams Park.

Wycombe have struggled to find form this season and are without a win in nine games. Gareth Ainsworth's side have taken just seven points from their last ten league fixtures leaving them two points above 23rd place Torquay United.

Chesterfield approach this game in scintillating form, undefeated in six league games and having taken 19 points from their last ten.

Though Paul Cook's side were defeated 1-0 by Fleetwood Town in midweek, the Spireites progressed to the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final with a 3-2 aggregate win over the Cod Army in the northern area final of the competition. A result that will see Chesterfield appear at Wembley for the second time in three years.

Victory for the Blues on Saturday could see Cook's side extend their lead at the top of the League 2 table to six points depending on results elsewhere.

These sides meet for the second time in the league this season after Chesterfield prevailed 2-0 in the Spireites & Chairboys' November meeting at the Proact Stadium. Two first half goals from Ollie Banks and Armand Gnanduillet were enough to award three points to the hosts.

Team News

Wycombe Wanderers
Dean Morgan could be fit to face his former side after recovering from a slight hamstring injury, while only Charles Dunne and Tommy Fletcher remain on the sidelines.

Chesterfield
Drew Talbot remains the Spireites' only missing player. The full-back stands to be out for three to four weeks after a recurrence of his abductor injury.
