Over 5,000 tickets were sold on the first day of tickets going on sale for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final.Staff in the Ticket Office and Club Superstore were kept busy all day as season ticket holders queued from first thing in the morning with five terminals in operation.
Tickets were also sold via the club's online ticketing system and over the phone with fans eager to secure their place at Wembley.
Chesterfield chief executive Chris Turner paid tribute to the hard-working staff who ensured that the opening day of ticket sales was a success. "The staff worked tirelessly to ensure that fans were dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible," he said. "We are delighted to have sold so many tickets in a single day.
"Credit must go to Ticket Office manager Karen Wood for organising everything. I'd like to say a big 'well done' to Karen and her colleagues for doing a superb job."
Ticket sales to season ticket holders continue on Saturday, from 10am to 4pm and to season tickets and membership card holders from 10am to 4pm on Sunday. Tickets go on general sale on Tuesday. Please click here for all the relevant details.
Fans are reminded that they can avoid queuing by using the club's online ticketing system. This is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so it is possible to purchase tickets even when the Ticket Office is closed.
