Foundation Coach Vacancy

A full-time opportunity has arisen at Chesterfield Football Club for a foundation phase lead coach in the club's academy.

To be responsible for the overall management, development of the U5-U11 age groups, in line with the Coaching philosophy, vision and values of the Academy and the Club as a whole. Must be computer literate, hold minimum qualification of UEFA B licence, have full CRC check, hold FA youth award modules 1&2 and have full clean driving licence. 

Coaching
  • Responsible for planning and delivering the technical and tactical coaching programme for the U9-U11 Team in group, unit and individual sessions in conjunction with the relevant coaches.
  • To manage and oversee all the players and part time coaches in the Foundation Phase.
  • To liaise with all key Academy personnel when planning and arranging coaching sessions and matches to ensure the appropriate support is in place (e.g. sports science, medical, recruitment, education and welfare) and that the timetable fits with all other Academy activities.
  • To evaluate all coaching sessions and matches and ensure that the relevant information is recorded fully on the Club’s Performance Management System.
  • To create position specific best practice sessions in line with the coaching programme.
  • To lead an age group within the Foundation Phase for training and games delivering sessions in line with the coaching programme
  • Lead and develop a programme for the  Pre Academy U8 group (mini spireites) working alongside Chesterfield College
  • Support Youth Team manager with training sessions and games when required to do so.
  • Understand coaching programme and ensure each coach in the Foundation Phase is working within the 6 weekly modules and mesocycles
  • Give weekly training feedback and match analysis for your age group as well as collating the feedback from the other age group coaches.
Player Development and Progression
  • To upload feedback provided by other coaches to the Performance Management System (Pro Football Support) for all players in the Foundation Phase and make sure that it is kept up to date.
  • To profile the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological attributes of each player in the foundation phase, then create and agree individual development programmes for them.
  • To compile performance reviews (6weekly module and twice yearly player/parent), in line with the requirements of the EPPP, and deliver feedback to players and parents both formally in meetings, and informally as required.
  • To compile a formal report of conclusions and actions following the performance review meetings and ensure that these are recorded on the Club’s Performance Management System. 
  • To liaise on a regular basis (6weeks) with the coaches of the Foundation Phase to discuss player progress/trialists and keep a record of minutes.
  • Organise and attend multi-disciplinary meetings every 12 weeks to review each player within Foundation Phase from each department 
  • Liaise with relevant coaches to discuss any trialists and follow correct procedures when releasing or retaining the player.
Safeguarding 
  • Be aware of any potential safeguarding children risks and work with the Academy Safeguarding Officer, and the Head of Safeguarding for Chesterfield Football Club to promote safer working practice throughout the Academy.
  • Understand the Academy Safeguarding policy, procedures and best practice guidelines. Use this understanding to ensure safer recruitment, safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment.
