Chesterfield supporter Lesley Brentnall has been named Sky Bet League 1 Fan of the Month for November.Lesley's award further shows the terrific support the club receives, following in the footsteps of another Spireite being recognised - after Mick Beddingham won the same award recently.
Lesley received her well-deserved award from a group of her favourite Chesterfield players, including Sam Morsy, Tommy Lee and Gary Roberts, at the Proact Stadium.
She said: I'm absolutely over the moon, I was so shocked when I found out. I just love this club so much so to have something like this is a huge honour.
"I was driving to London for quite a big meeting and I got a call from Sky Bet saying that I'd been short-listed, then later they called me and told me I'd won - I thought they were winding me up!
Lesley was nominated for the award by a fellow Spireites fan, and she talked through some of the things she does for the club.
She said: "I've been a Chesterfield fan since I was a baby, all my life. In the last ten years I've helped with the away travel for the club.
"I get involved with the fans' forum and I think we've got quite a good group of people that we look after that travel every week.
Chesterfield assistant manager Leam Richardson was thrilled for Lesley and spoke about how important such dedicated fans are to the club.
He said: "I'm really happy for Lesley, she couldn't deserve this award more.
"Sometimes it's the players and manager who receive all the accolades at a football club but the truth is that clubs couldn't survive without people like Lesley, so it's great that her contribution has been recognised in this way."
