Around 40 people attended the Proact Stadium for the launch of Club 66 - the new business club run by the Spireites.Utilising the football club's strong social media presence and prominent role in the town, Club 66 aims to bring businesses together.
Spireites director Chris Breeze said: "I was delighted to see the launch event so well attended by both previous business club members and new companies wanting to be part of this exciting new networking opportunity."
Club 66 membership offers a range of benefits including a listing on the Chesterfield FC website and in the matchday programme, together with free match tickets and discounted use of facilities at the Proact Stadium. Regular lunches and social events will also be put on, providing excellent informal networking opportunities.
Nick Johnson, Chesterfield's head of media & communications, said: "Membership of Club 66 allows local businesses to benefit from the football club's strong social media presence, which is greater than any other organisation in the town. We have over 37,000 Facebook 'likes' and more than 23,000 Twitter followers. Added to that, our website receives an average of around 60,000 unique visits every month.
"Being involved in Club 66 will allow people in business to spread their network of contacts. I want to encourage members to be proactive and tell us about any developments within their organisation. We can then share the news via social media."
Membership of Club 66 costs £275+VAT for the season and over 20 organisations have already signed-up as members. To view the full list of benefits for members, please click here.
