With just two days to go before the new season, the Spireites squad gathered for the annual team photo.

The whole playing squad pulled on their new blue home shirts and posed on the Proact pitch.

Defender Tendayi Darikwa spoke of the closeness within the group and how that can only be a good thing for the campaign ahead.

He said: "It's exciting times throughout the squad. We've kept most of the squad together with a few new additions. We've done a full pre-season together now so hopefully we can have a good season this year."

Goalkeeper Tommy Lee spoke about the long build-up for the season opener at Leyton Orient this Saturday.

He said: "It's exciting but you've got to stay professional about it, we've prepared for six or seven weeks for Saturday, but Saturday is just one game. It's a 46 game season and hopefully it will stand us in good stead for the rest of the season."

Also included in the photo was midfielder Romuald Boco. The Benin international has been a feature of the Spireites' pre-season fixtures and manager Paul Cook revealed the player is likely to sign a deal with the club before the trip to Leyton Orient on Saturday.
