After watching his side defeat Leyton Orient 2-1 at the Matchroom Stadium Leam Ricahrdson spoke to Spireites Player.Spireites assistant manager spoke of his delight following Saturday’s 2-1 victory against Leyton Orient.
He said: “Individually, one to eleven, throughout pre-season we have been outstanding, and collectively today I thought we thoroughly deserved the three points. Any point away from home is good value, but to get the win we are made up.
“Overall the manager, myself, the staff, and the players are all very pleased with the performance because this is a tough place to come. Leyton Orient set up well with some very good players and a very good squad, so it is all the more pleasing to go home with the three points”
Romuald Boco impressed on his competitive Spireites debut, and Richardson was quick to praise both Boco and the board for making it happen.
Richardson said: “He is one of the players that has put a good shift in today. Through pre-season the chairman, the chief exec and the manager came together to push the club forward, and on the back of that the lads have done well.”
Despite the Spireites’ stunning start to the season, Richardson admitted that the coaching staff are keen to keep the squad’s feet firmly on the ground.
He said: “We won’t get carried away because we know it is a tough league. We were under no illusions today because Leyton Orient are a very good team. For the neutral it was a very good game, thankfully we came out on top and go home with the three points. We will dust ourselves down tomorrow and go again for Tuesday in the cup.”
