Ahead of the Capital One Cup first round game with Huddersfield, Spireites striker Eoin Doyle spoke about cup runs and his goalscoring start to the new season.
The Irishman scored the decisive second goal on Saturday in the Spireites' tremendous 2-1 away win over Leyton Orient.
Doyle said: "It is nice to get off the mark early in the season, obviously as a striker the longer it goes the less confident you become so it was nice to get the goal and get a massive three point as well."
Looking ahead to the Capital One Cup tie against Huddersfield Town, Doyle didn't think Tuesday's opponents would suffer after losing their first game and their manager.
He said: "Obviously they had quite a bad defeat at the weekend but I think that probably plays into their favor, they want to go out and prove something against us and it is a game I'm very much looking forward to. I will go into the game properly prepared and looking to win it. The moment you get onto the pitch you are wanting to win the game and if you get to the 4th round you have a great chance of a massive game."
The Spireites striker also takes encouragement from other lower league clubs exploits in cup competitions.
He said: "Sheffield United managed to get to the FA Cup semi-final, obviously you can get a bit of luck on the way with the draw you get but Bradford were a good team and they got to the final, it would be remarkable if we could get their too."
