Chesterfield travel to the Pirelli Stadium to take on Burton Albion on Sunday afternoon in their 45th fixture of the 2013/14 Sky Bet League 2 season.
The Brewers are currently 5th in the League 2 table having taken 72 points from 44 games, drawing 1-1 with Newport County AFC in their last outing at Rodney Parade. Burton fell behind after just five minutes through a powerful Andy Sandell strike before Michael Symes levelled for the visitors from the penalty spot and the sides shared a point.
Gary Rowett's side have been in good form of late; taking 11 points from their last six league outings leaving them within six points of the automatic promotion places. However, the Brewers goal difference means they would need results to go their way as well as a 12-goal swing to achieve a third place finish.
Chesterfield approach Sunday's game on the back of a 1-0 away victory at Dagenham & Redbridge on Monday afternoon. Eoin Doyle scored the only goal of the game, capitalising on Tendayi Darikwa's determination to fire home from close range and win all three points.
The win meant the Spireites remained two points behind League 2 leaders Scunthorpe United and kept the gap between themselves and fourth place Fleetwood Town to three points.
Chesterfield and Burton Albion meet for the second time this season after the Brewers prevailed 2-0 in the October meeting at the Proact Stadium. Adam McGurk scored a first-half brace to earn the points for the visitors.
The Spireites could be promoted this weekend depending on Saturday afternoon's results, Paul Cook's side could also reclaim the league's top spot if they were to win and Scunthorpe fail to win at Exeter City.
Last Time We Met
Ollie Banks will not feature against the Brewers as the young midfielder has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2013/14 campaign following the injury he picked up in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final against Peterborough.
Sam Morsy received a straight red card during Chesterfield's 1-1 draw with Exeter City and will serve the second of his three-match ban against the Brewers.
Drew Talbot has resumed full training following the recurrence of his abductor injury and is available for Sunday's game.
