Chief executive Chris Turner stresses that Alan Stevenson's position as director of marketing at the club is unaffected by his new, part-time role as a consultant at York City.York have announced that Stevenson will act as a consultant to oversee the commercial activities surrounding the club's move from Bootham Crescent to a new stadium.
Spireites chief executive Chris Turner points out, however, that Stevenson will continue in his post at the Proact Stadium.
"Alan works for us three days a week and I was asked whether it would be okay for him to work for York on a consultancy basis on the other two days," said Turner.
"Alan has vast experience in helping clubs maximise commercial opportunties on relocation to a new stadium so I was happy to let him assist York in this way. He has done an excellent job for Chesterfield and he will continue to do so for the forseeable future."
Stevenson, who starred for the Spireites as a goalkeeper, returned to the club ahead of the move from Saltergate. He has worked in a similar role for various other clubs including, West Bromwich Albion, Hull City, Coventry City and Bolton Wanderers.
