Spireites Travel to Morecambe

4 October 2013

Chesterfield travel to the Globe Arena to take on Morecambe in their tenth fixture of the 2013/14 Skybet League Two season.

Overview

The Shrimps are currently ninth in the League 2 table having taken 15 points from their opening nine fixtures, drawing 0-0 with Northampton Town in their last outing at the Sixfields Stadium.

The Lancashire side finished the 2012/13 campaign in 16th place and after a strong start to the current season, Jim Bentley's side will be looking for a high table finish.

Chesterfield approach this fixture on the back of a 1-0 loss to local rivals Mansfield Town, their first league defeat of the season.

Despite the set-back, Chesterfield remain four points clear at the top of the League 2 table and will be looking to continue their strong start to the season.

Morecambe last hosted the Spireites in October last year where goals from Gary McDonald and Lewis Alessandra sealed a 2-0 victory for the Shrimps.
