Chesterfield manager Paul Cook confirmed in his Thursday afternoon press conference that he has a full team to choose from ahead of Saturday's game against Burton Albion.

After suffering from a number of injuries in recent weeks, the Spireites squad is back to full fitness and will present the manager with selection dilemmas for all the right reasons.

Speaking to Spireites Player, Cook said: “We’ve trained this morning with every pro at the club training and as a manager I couldn’t be more delighted.

“Everyone’s fit and available for selection, training was really bright today. Competition for places is huge now which gives me selection dilemmas as a manager.”

After three consecutive away matches, Chesterfield's next 13 games include nine home fixtures - a position that the gaffer is delighted to be in. “We’re going into these games with a fantastically fit squad to pick from and top of the league; I don’t think anyone could have asked for much more than that," said the Liverpudlian.

He added: “What we need is everyone pulling in the right direction and I must admit I feel we’ve got that within the group. When we are successful, it won’t be because of one person, it will have been what we’ve done as a football club.”

Burton Albion kick-off the 13-game stretch on Saturday and the Spireites boss knows the challenge the Brewers will pose. He said: “They will be strong and effective. We know we’ve got our hands full on Saturday, we’re fully respectful of Burton like we are of every club.

“Burton Albion are a very, very strong team, they’re a very well run club, they’ve got good players, the manager’s a very good manager. They’re just having a bit of time trying to find their feet.”
