The club’s long-serving financial director and company secretary Alan Walters has announced his imminent retirement.
Walters, who will be 65 in February, will remain on the board.
He has been with the Spireites since 2001 and helped rescue the club following Darren Brown's ill-fated time as owner.
Walters was heavily involved in running the club with Barrie Hubbard at Saltergate. He was in charge of the accounts department and also acted as football secretary.
“I never envisaged having such a long association with the club I have supported since childhood," said Walters.
"I am looking forward to seeing a successful team at the Proact Stadium for many years to come, without having the day to day involvement associated with my present position."
Chairman Dave Allen said: “On behalf of everyone at the club, I’d like to thank Alan for his service and wish him well in his retirement.”
