Chesterfield have been praised for helping to improve the attendance record at Whitecotes Primary School.

For the first term last year, the school had 76 children with full time attendance. This year, for the same period, there are 120 children who have achieved 100% attendance.
The Chesterfield FC Community Trust has helped the school achieve this impressive result by offering pupils free match tickets as an incentive to attend.
The school’s head teacher, Ross Griffin, thanked the club for the part they have played. He said: “The support from Chesterfield Football Club has been immeasurable, with the players also reading to the children, sharing their favourite books.
“As a school we are extremely grateful for the partnership. We hope that it will continue for many years to come.”
Any school interested in developing a similar partnership with the club, or arranging a visit from players, should contact the Chesterfield FC Community Trust on 01246 209765 (ext 6003) or email
