The club's football development programme has three development schools in Chesterfield, Sheffield and Leeds and has recently entered in to partnership with Springwell Community College in Chesterfield.

This partnership will see our development schools play all of their matches at this venue in a very exciting and mutually beneficial agreement.

Head of Youth Recruitment, Liam Sutcliffe said: "It is very exciting that a long term agreement has been reached with the college which will see us having full use of four grass pitches.

"The grass pitches are in great condition, we have the luxury of a 7v7 pitch, a 9v9 pitch and two 11v11 pitches all marked out specifically to our club philosophy with new moveable goalposts. The use of this superb facility will enable us to play matches and provide a real home for our development programme to entertain other professional clubs and grassroots clubs as well as our own academy.

"All matches will take place on Saturday mornings. The structure will see four matches being played at any one time in exactly the same format as would be played by any academy, odd age groups one week and even age groups the next.

"We are likely to welcome Stoke City, Blackpool and York City over the coming months. This will provide an excellent environment for our players to develop and prepare to move forward to our academy."

We would love to continue working with grassroots clubs in the area and as part of our Grassroots Partnership Programme we can now invite clubs to play our development which is another step in the right direction.
