A cheque for more than £8,000 was handed over to Cancer Research UK following a recent fund-raising event at the Proact Stadium.
With the help of family and friends, Josh Seward organised a dinner at the stadium to raise funds for the charity after his brother Danny was diagnosed with bowel cancer last November.
"Danny had an operation to remove the tumour in December and we wanted to give something back to the people who saved his life," Josh explained.
"We made £4,600 from an auction and £1,000 from selling raffle tickets, raising in excess of £8,000 in total for an incredible cause."
Josh paid tribute to the staff at the Proact who helped to ensure that the event was a major success. He said: "The venue was perfect. I want to thank Emma - who was on hand before the event to reply to every one of my many emails - and Gary, who ensured that everything ran smoothly on the night.
"Every request we made was met immediately and the night couldn't have gone any better due to the work put in by the staff. I would highly recommend the Proact Stadium for any hospitality events."
