The 19-year-old full back has impressed for the Spireites since his January move.

Brindley, who was signed from Chelmsford City until the end of the season, has effortlessly slotted in to the right-back slot in recent weeks where he has put in a some eye-catching performances.

The young defender kept his place in the team at Oxford United after an assured display against Bristol Rovers the previous week.

He followed that up with another good showing at the Kassam Stadium, where he was on hand to provide an assist for Marc Richards to fire in the winning goal.

Manager Paul Cook has expressed his delight with the form shown by Brindley. He said: “I though Richard [Brindley] was outstanding, I really did. I don’t like singling players out.

“I though he played really well Saturday. He was absolutely shattered in front of us late on. I think it’s great credit to the lad that he’s come from where he has, Chelmsford, to make a step up.

“He’s gone in and he don’t look out of place and I think that’s really pleasing.”
