Spireites Chief Executive, Chris Turner, is anticipating a number of additions to the squad at the Proact Stadium in the coming weeks.

In an interview with Spireites Player, Turner claimed that the club is close to securing a signature.

He said: “We’ve got another player right on the fringe of signing at the moment, hopefully in the next two or three days that gets clinched."

The Chief Executive also hinted that club is advancing on a number of other players. “Two other players when Paul [Cook] returns from his break, we’re moving into them," stated Turner.

This speculation comes less than a week after the Spireites added Jimmy Ryan to their ranks. Speaking about Chesterfield's latest acquisition, Turner said: “The signing of Jimmy Ryan sparked up a tremendous amount of interest from other clubs who couldn’t believe Ryan was available in one respect and two, had been signed up by Chesterfield.

“We’re expecting some good things from Jimmy [Ryan] next season.”

Turner believes that the current group of players should be cause for great positivity amongst Chesterfield fans. “I’m really optimistic about this forthcoming season, I think the players we’ve already brought in added to the players that we’ve got here, we’ll have a fantastic season next year," said the Chief Executive.
