Fitness coach Shane Nicholson is already prepared for the Spireites return to pre-season training that is set to start on June 20.
Nicholson, who has been a coach since 2007, outlined his plans for the players, explaining that there is nowhere for them to hide.
Speaking at the Jamie Walker charity match, Nicholson said: “June 20 is when we are back, so the gruelling sessions are all planned out waiting for the lads.
"They know what’s coming, they know what to expect, so there will be a few unhappy players at the club, I’m sure! I’ve been told the new players like to work very hard, so it suits me down to the ground.”
Talking about the day itself, Shane was full of praise for former Spireites striker Jamie Ward after he turned out for the legends side.
He said: “For players like Jamie, who still plays at the level he plays at, they very rarely come and do things like this, so fair play to him for playing in this, it’s been fantastic. It’s for a great cause and been a great day. The weather has been great for us as well, so I think the result tops everything off for us."
The former defender spoke about his own performance and was happy to meet up with some familiar faces.
“It was great to have a run out. It’s always nice to come back and play in games like this, you do see some old friends who you don’t necessarily keep in contact with, and so it’s great to catch up with people,” said Nicholson.
