The Spireites youth team secured an impressive victory against Rotherham United.
The youngsters continued their preparations for the new season on Saturday with a 0-4 demolition of, local rivals, Rotherham United.
Jordan Walshaw (2), Fabian Johnson and Regan Edridge got the goals for the Blues as they produced a superb display to secure victory over a strong Rotherham side that contained first team players Kayode Odejayi and Lionel Ainsworth.
Youth Team Coach Mark Smith was pleased with his team's performance. He said: “The lads looked fit, strong and well organised, the quality of the goals and some of our forward play was of the top order, but there is still plenty to work on”.
Prior to their first game of the season on the 17th August, the the youth team will be completing their pre-season programme in Holland. Smith was hopeful that they could take the momentum from the victory into the new season.
“We set a very high standard in the match against Rotherham, and now the players must apire to replicate this high level when the season starts," said Smith.
