Paul Cook has revealed that midfielder Mark Randall has left the club following the expiry of his contract.
In an interview with Spireites Player, manager Paul Cook confirmed that he had decided against offering Randall a new deal.
Cook said: "We're still looking for a central midfielder, but it will be a strong, aggressive, holding type of midfielder.
"We thank Mark for everything he's done and wish him every success for the future."
Randal, 23, joined the Spireites two years ago after being released by Arsenal. He scored a total of four goals in 51 appearances for Chesterfield.
