There will be a mascot race to raise awareness of the upcoming Chesterfield Community 5k race and the Chesterfield FC Community Trust Junior Fun Run during half-time of the Nottingham Forest game.
The race will feature a number of mascots including Chester the Field Mouse, Brewster Bear, Freddie the Falcon, Ashley Bear from Ashgate Hospice and Robin Hood, the Nottingham Forest mascot.
The upcoming charity events are raising funds for Ashgate Hospice and the Chesterfield FC Community Trust. There will also be collections during the Forest game to try and raise more money for these charitable causes.
Both the Chesterfield Community 5k race and the Chesterfield FC Community Trust Junior Fun Run take place on September 1. To enter either event, contact the Community Trust or the North Derbyshire Running Club.
The events are open to all abilities and those taking part can run, jog or walk the distances. The Junior Fun Run takes place at the Proact Stadium and consists of three laps of the pitch (1,114m) and costs £3 per child.
All participants of the Fun Run will be greeted at the finish line by Chester the Field Mouse and receive a free ticket to a Chesterfield home game, subject to fixtures.
