Young Blackburn defender, Ryan Edwards, has joined Chesterfield on a month-long loan until Saturday, August 24.The 19-year-old, Liverpool-born, centre back has progressed through the youth ranks at Ewood Park and earned a two-year professional contract with Rovers in April, 2012.
During his time at Blackburn, Edwards captained the youth squad to the 2011/12 FA Youth Cup final before enjoying loan spells at Rochdale and Fleetwood Town.
Speaking about Edwards, Assistant Manager, Leam Richardson said: "Ryan has bags of potential and we think he's going to develop into a brilliant player. We're looking forward to seeing him in a Chesterfield shirt."
The defender has joined the Spireites in time to feature in Tuesday night's friendly match against Wolves.
