Paul Cook is looking forward to another good test for his players as they prepare to face Nottingham Forest tonight at the Proact.
The Spireites kicked off a series of four home pre-season fixtures at the weekend with a 2-1 win against Huddersfield Town and the game against Forest will see them take another important step in their build-up to the new campaign.
The players have been worked hard on the training ground and Cook admits that might be evident tonight. "The likelihood is that the players might look a little tired due to how hard they've been training," he said. "It's all in preparation for Bury away on the opening day of the season."
Cook acknowledges he is delighted with the way things are shaping up. He said: "I couldn't be more happy with the lads. On the training pitch, we couldn't ask for any more from them. We know the fans are going to get behind us and we're all looking forward to an enjoyable season."
On-trial trio Matty Brown, Jamie Devitt and Hendrick Cakin are all set to feature tonight after turning out against Huddersfield. John Shaw and Conor Clifford have departed after trial spells.
Fans are reminded that the match kicks off at 7.30pm. Admission is £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
