This year the world's original league football competition, the Football League, is celebrating its 125th year.
The anniversary period will begin this Saturday (March 2) which marks 125 years since League founder, William McGregor, sent his letter to clubs suggesting “that ten or twelve of the most prominent clubs in England combine to arrange home-and-away fixtures each season.” McGregor’s letter was the catalyst for the beginning of league football, which 125 years later still dominates the sporting landscape in countries throughout the world.
As part of the build up to this week's fixtures, we asked supporters, via our official Twitter account, to remember their first Chesterfield game.
Using the hashtag #MyFirstGame we were able to collate the responses and showcase some of them below, did yours make it in?
