The Chesterfield FC Community Trust has organised a range of activities for youngsters to take part in during the half-term break.
Help club mascot Chester the field mouse celebrate his birthday at Chester’s Holiday Club at the Proact Stadium on Monday, February 18. After a tour of the stadium, those attending will take their seats to watch the players train on the pitch.
There will be an opportunity to secure autographs and have photos taken with the players, with multi-sports and games also taking place. All activities are fully supervised by coaches.
The event starts at 9.30am and finishes at 5pm and children will be required to bring their own lunch. Suitable for kids aged eight to 15 years, the cost of attending is £15 and pre-booking is essential.
There are Spireites Soccer Days every day from Tuesday, February 19 to Friday, February 22 at Brookfield Community School in Chesterfield. The same event takes place at Dronfield Sports Centre on the Tuesday.
The day starts with fun warm-up games, before taking part in some skills work and then a round-robin tournament. The event runs from 10am to 3pm at Brookfield and from 9am to 4pm at Dronfield. Suitable for kids aged five to 14 years, the cost is £11.50 at Brookfield and £14 at Dronfield.
Aspiring goalkeepers can develop their skills at a Spireites Goalkeeper Camp at Brookfield Community School on Thursday, February 21. Running from 10am to 3pm, it is aimed at kids aged seven to 15 years and costs £11.50.
On Friday, February 22, a Spireites Girls’ Soccer Camp for girls aged five to 14 years takes place at Brookfield Community School. It starts at 10am and finishes at 3pm and costs £11.50.
The week concludes with the first-ever Chester’s Matchday Club, for kids aged five to 14 years, on Saturday, February 23. Starting at 12.45pm and finishing at 5pm, the fully supervised day features a mini training session at a venue close to the Proact before taking in Chesterfield’s game against Gillingham and a half-time showcase on the pitch. The £20 fee includes a match ticket.
