Flashback: Millers Gunned Down

13 February 2013

Three goals in nine minutes and a late strike from loanee Jamie O'Hara were enough to see off the Millers back in 2006 and put Chesterfield's play off hopes back on track.

Kevan Hurst got the scoring underway on the stroke of half-time when he sent a venomous free-kick past Gary Montgomery from the edge of the area, after O'Hara was bought down by Paul McLaren.

Four minutes into the second-half the Spireites added a second when Derek Niven picked his spot with a lovely side-footed finish from 20 yards.

The Spireites all but sealed the points on 54 minutes when Mark Allott latched onto a loose ball and fired home from 25 yards, before a young Jamie O'Hara put the icing on the cake with another fine finish in the last five minutes.

Chesterfield: Muggleton; Bailey, Downes, Blatherwick, Picken; Allott, Niven, O'Hara; Hurst, Larking, Hall.
