Chesterfield travel to St James Park to take on Exeter City in their 21st fixture of the 2013/14 Sky Bet League 2 season.
The Grecians are currently 11th in the League 2 table having taken 29 points from 20 games, defeating Accrington Stanley 3-2 in their last outing at the Crown Ground.
The Devon side have struggled to find form of late, taking nine points from their last ten games after they started the season taking 20 points from their opening 10. The victory over Stanley was the Grecians first league win since the 4-0 thrashing of Scunthorpe United at Glanford park in mid-October.
Chesterfield approach this fixture on the back of a 2-0 win over Plymouth Argyle at the Proact Stadium on Saturday following on from the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory over Oldham Athletic sending the Spireites through to the area finals of the competition.
The North Derbyshire side last visited St James Park in October last year where a 32nd minute Chris Atkinson goal was enough to separate the teams and seal the points for the Spireites.
The Grecians are missing Matt Oakley due to a long term injury and club captain Danny Coles has recently undergone knee surgery so will be unavailable for Friday's game.
After picking up a knee injury in the game against Bristol Rovers at the end of October, Sam Morsy is close to making a full return to the first team squad and is likely to appear on the team sheet ahead of Friday night's game.
Liam Cooper is also likely to travel with the squad as he is close to recovering from the ankle injury he picked up against Oldham Athletic in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie last week.
Marc Richards was forced to leave the Plymouth game at half time after taking a knock to his foot but the striker has featured in training this week and looks likely to start against the Grecians.
Ollie Banks was a late exclusion from the team that took on the Pilgrims last Saturday but the young midfielder has trained this week and will travel with the squad to Exeter.
Gary Roberts (hamstring), Armand Gnanduillet (shoulder), Jimmy Ryan (shoulder) and Aaron Chapman (knee) have all been confirmed as missing out on Friday night's game due to their respective injuries.
Nathan Smith is still recovering from the ankle injury that has troubled him throughout the 2013/14 campaign will not feature against Exeter but is working hard to make a return.
Exeter City: 21/10 Draw: 12/5 Chesterfield: 5/4
