Drew Talbot was delighted to make his 200th appearance for the Spireites in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Bury.
Since joining the club, initially on loan in January, 2009, the versatile player has played in 177 league games and made 23 cup appearances. He signed permanently in the summer of 2009 and has carved out a reputation for versatility after starting out in attack, now mainly playing at right-back.
In an interview with Spireites Player, Talbot spoke about his joy at reaching a milestone. He said: "I didn't know it was my 200th game - my wife told me this morning - but being captain as well was rather special. When I was playing the game I wanted to get the three points, but looking back now, it was a great day for me."
Looking ahead to the Capital One Cup tie at Leeds United on Wednesday, Talbot is confident the Spireites can hold their own against Championship opposition.
He added: "We've got to go there with confidence and give it our best. There is no doubting that Leeds are a good team, but it's going to be a good game.
"I think if you go into any game without thinking you can win, regardless of the opposition, you may as well not play. We're going to go and give it our best shot and believe that if we are all on our game, then we are capable of winning the game."
