Chesterfield FC Community Trust have organised a fun run in aid of Ashgate Hospice.
The event will take place on Sunday, September, 1, and the 5k race will start at 10am. The fun run starts an hour later at 11am.
The race is a sponsored event with money raised going to Chesterfield FC Community Trust and Ashgate Hospice. The 5k race costs £12 to enter (£3 for the fun run). The 5k race starts at Sheepbridge and competitors will run to the Proact Stadium, finishing with a half lap of the pitch in the stadium.
The fun run is based in the Proact Stadium and runners will complete three and three-quarter laps around the outside of the pitch. All children taking part in the fun run will receive a free ticket to a Chesterfield FC home game.
Rachael Booth from the Community Trust said: "In 2012, the event raised £5,500 and it is hoped that the figure can be beaten this year. We are encouraging businesses and pubs to enter teams into the race with a prize for the winning team."
More details and an entry form are available on the North Derbyshire Running Club website, who are managing the race: http://northderbyshirerc.
