Chesterfield’s appearance in the semi-finals of the FA Cup in 1997 will be remembered this weekend.
To mark the 16th anniversary of the never-to-be-forgotten match against Middlesbrough, some members of the team who played that day at Old Trafford will attend Saturday’s game against Bradford City.
They will mingle with supporters in the build-up to the match and then be introduced to the crowd at half-time.
Fans are encouraged to wear replica ’97 shirts or T-shirts relating to the clash with Boro. Club officials would also like to display some fans’ photos from the semi-final on the concourses.
Anyone in possession of relevant images they would like to see displayed should drop them off at the stadium. Please note the images can be scanned, allowing the owner to keep the originals.
There will also be a special offer on all the concourses (except in the Rubicon Stand) from 1.30pm to 2.30pm, with a pie and a *pint costing just £3.
*Lager, bitter or cider available. Soft/hot drink options also available.
