Manager Paul Cook has returned to his former club Accrington Stanley to recruit Leam Richardson as his new assistant.
Richardson took charge of Accrington when Cook joined the Spireites last October and guided them to League Two safety.
The 33-year-old began his playing career at Blackburn Rovers before joining Bolton Wanderers. After a two-year spell at Blackpool, he joined Accrington in 2005 and made over 100 appearances for the Lancashire club.
Richardson replaces Tommy Wright, who left the club on Monday as part of a backroom re-shuffle.
After appointing Richardson as his deputy, Cook said: “Having worked with him before, I’m delighted to have been able to bring in Leam.
“He has great knowledge of League Two, as a player, assistant-manager and manager and I’m sure he’s going to be a great asset to our club.”
