' Despite a 3-1 victory over Fleetwood, the mood around the Spireites camp was largely downbeat and Marc Richardsdisappointment was clear to see.

As Bradford City beat Burton Albion, it means the Spireites remain in League Two for another year.

Richards scored a goal in each half to take his tally into double figures for the season. His first was a stunning strike from the edge of the area and his second came midway through the second half, superbly curling in a left-footed drive.

Speaking to Spireites Player after the game, Marc couldn't " hide his frustration. He said:'Its been a disappointing season for everyone involved with the club. Nobody is more disappointed than the players.

Last week"╒s result [against Plymouth] was a massive downer. If we could have nicked a point out of that, then we would have been in with a shout going into the last game, so we╒"re disappointed.

Richards praised strike-partner Armand Gnanduillet after the Ivorian put in a superb performance.

"He added:'When you bring Armand on, he's certainly a handful. You don't quite know what you're getting from him at times but it took the pressure off my shoulders being that one and only striker, trying to get hold of the ball and link play. He"s a big lad and very strong so he certainly takes the pressure off my shoulders.

The Spireites face Exeter in the final game of the season and Richards is confident the club can finish on a high.

" We want to finish on a good note," "he said."If we can get a result next week and finish one place outside the play-offs, then we will be looking to beat that next year and we want to finish as strongly as possible.

'The Exeter match marks the end of Jack Lesters stay with the club and Richards paid tribute to the departing striker.

"He said:'Jacks been a fantastic servant to the club. The fans never stop singing his name and rightly so. He╒'s one of the players that you'll look back on in the future and think he's a proper legend of the club. As many goals as he's scored, he"s been a fantastic professional as well.
