Jacob Hazel scored twice as the reserves beat their Mansfield Town counterparts 3-0 at the Proact on Tuesday night.

Danny Whitaker opened the scoring with all three goals coming in the second half.

Scott Boden put an early chance wide and Craig Clay fired inches wide.

As the Spireites continued to press, Hazel and Whitaker both tested the Mansfield keeper and Clay shot wide after playing a one-two with Hazel.

Mansfield's Jake Green tried a shot after dribbling his way into the area but it was easily saved by Josh Barrington.

Soon after the re-start, Whitaker opened the scoring with a superb volley from the right-hand side of the area after Jonathan Wafula chipped the ball into the area.

Hazel's control let him down when he was in a good position inside the area and then James Dance volleyed off-target.

Hazel headed over and Boden side-footed wide while in a rare Mansfield attack, Barrington got down bravely to block Joe Flint.

It was 2-0 midway through the second half when Hazel slotted home after being put through by Jack Waddle.

Coach John Dungworth made a triple substitution with Ben Partridge, Josh Scully and Tim Whittaker replacing Scott Boden, Danny Whitaker and Sam Hird.

Hazel completed the scoring, slipping the ball past the onrushing Ryan Hopkins after getting on the end of a fine ball from Clay.

Line-up: Barrington, Wafula, Stevenson, Clay, Broadhead, Hird (Whittaker), Dance, Waddle, Boden (Partridge), Hazel, Whitaker (Scully). Unused subs: Mason, Slack.
