Latest news from the treatment table after Marc Richards and Liam Cooper hobbled off against Port Vale.
Manager Paul Cook revealed that Marc Richards will miss the game with a twist to his ankle ligaments but he is hopeful on the fitness of Liam Cooper.
The no-nonsense defender was taken off in the first half during Monday’s game with Port Vale after he suffered a gash on his leg and Richards limped off midway through the second half with an ankle injury.
Cooper could be in contention to return to action this weekend and Cook is hoping the defender will feature.
Speaking to Spireites Player, he said: “Liam’s looking good and the likelihood could be involved Saturday, which is pleasing.
“Liam [Cooper] is our tough guy centre half and he’s had a bit of stick since. He’s got a bit of bruising and it was a bad knock but he is a tough lad and he wants to be out there on Saturday and that’s the most important thing.”
“Marc [Richards] isn't so good, he’s ruled out this Saturday. He’s got a twist on his ankle ligaments.
“His is a little more longer term but we will concentrate on the Barnet game and try and come back with the correct result.”
