Marc Richards is anxiously waiting to learn the extent of the injury he suffered in Tuesday night’s game against Accrington Stanley.
The striker, who was taken off the pitch on a stretcher at the end of the match, will undergo an X-ray on his injured ankle on Thursday.
“We’re working to reduce the swelling and after the X-ray we’ll know whether there’s any bone damage or if it’s a soft tissue problem,” said physio Jamie Hewitt. “When we know what the problem is we’ll then be able to evaluate the extent of the damage.”
Richards, who was signed in pre-season, scored his first goal for the Spireites in the 4-3 victory over Accrington.
